About Be Kind to Your Mind

The Government has announced that all schools and colleges in England will close from Friday 20th March until further notice, in line with closures in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. They will remain open only for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police officers, delivery drivers) and for vulnerable children and young people (including those subject to Education and Health Care Plans, with Free School Meals to continue either in school, via deliveries or a voucher system) – all other children are expected to stay at home. Early years providers, further education and sixth form colleges have been asked to do the same. Our team continue to provide therapy support to young people during this challenging time. We are utilising secure, user friendly online platforms to help young people process their feelings and thoughts in a safe and confidential way, and access support from a registered therapist. If you are a young person, a teacher or a commissioner, get in contact with us to find out what our team can offer you.

What is Art Psychotherapy?

Art Psychotherapy provides children and young people a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore the feelings and thoughts that may be concerning them. Art Therapy can be very useful for developing self-awareness, self-confidence, managing stress and anxiety, and for learning to put words to experiences and feelings that may otherwise be difficult. It can prevent and treat poor mental health and promote wellbeing. Mind in Brent, Wandsworth & Westminster has been commissioned by Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to provide free art psychotherapy services to primary, secondary and alternative provision schools.
