Connectivity – Wandsworth Wellbeing Day

Mind in Wandsworth held their bi-monthly Wellbeing day on the 1st August 2018.  The theme of the day was “Connectivity”, bringing people together with workshops on art, horticulture, tai chi and eating together with a healthy and nutritious menu to enable and encourage individuals to learn about healthy eating choices.

The day was organised by Ella Boynton – Volunteer Facilitator at the Tooting Hub. She sourced a local charity, Thrive, to attend and talk about how to get the most out of growing plants from seeds, how to take care and nurture plants and the therapeutic value of connecting to nature.

Our “Connectivity” Art workshop helped individuals connect through expressing themselves with pictures and  narrative collectively and then discussing: “What does connecting to other mean to you”. The feedback was very positive from those that attended.

Ella also sourced a Qualified Tai Chi instructor, Henry Goldstein, who kindly gave up his time to run a tai chi class on relaxation, connecting and distress.

With 29 visitors participating on the day and the positive feedback received, our Wellbeing day continues to be an unqualified success.
