Choir In The Cabinet – Harmonious Perform At 10 Downing Street

On 30th July the fabulous Harmonious Choir performed for a very special audience – the staff at 10 Downing Street! As part of a Wellbeing At Work day run by the Cabinet Office, the choir demonstrated the impact of community singing for mental wellbeing on this extremely memorable day.

The Harmonious choir joined staff from the NHS, as well as a team from the Blood Donation service, to illustrate the importance of physical and mental health in the work place. During the day, there was also an introduction to Mental Health First Aid, and our chief executive Janice Horsman gave a presentation on mental health awareness in the workplace.

The choir sang:

Sing, Swing, Saints
Fruit Salad Song
Vive La Vie
Banaha
Sway
Lean on Me
The Rose
What A Wonderful World

We’ll sure you’ll agree this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and we’re immensely proud of all the choir have achieved. The Harmonious Choir have been going from strength to strength from their first inception rehearsing in our boardroom in our Pimlico office. Since then, they have been singing up a storm at Westminster City Council Offices, at SouthWestFest festival, the Open University, the piazza at Westminster Cathedral. They are due to perform at the forthcoming premiere of the choir’s film ‘Harmonious: A Symphony of Minds’ at the Curzon Cinema, Victoria, to celebrate World Mental Health day. You can find out how to get tickets to the event here.

We’re raising money to support the choir’s expansion and development, and to help bring community singing to other boroughs. Can you support us?
