What to Do

If your condition, or the condition of someone you are concerned about, deteriorates, it is advisable to contact the person you or they usually see such as a care co-ordinator or named lead professional.

If this is the first time you, or someone you care about, need/s help for a mental health crisis and it is during normal office hours, you should contact your GP or family doctor. They will be able to refer you to the most appropriate mental health service in your area.

If you are in extreme crisis, you think you might be at risk of seriously harming yourself or doing something which might harm someone else you should go to your nearest hospital A&E Department and ask for help or call 999 and ask for an ambulance.

If you are having thoughts about taking your own life or are desperate to talk to someone…
Call the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90.

The Samaritans provide confidential non-judgmental support, 24 hours a day for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.  If you want to email instead of calling email jo@samaritans.org
