Three Peaks Challenge Champions!

On Sunday 22nd, an intrepid group of adventurers from Careys Plc scaled not one, not two but THREE UK mountains to support BWW Mind. The group consisted of Alahna, Paul Moran, Patrick Corcoran, Amy Morgan, Craig K De Sloan, Luke Spencer, Sean Sugrue and Rachel Penfold.

They battled wind, snow, rain and blazing sunshine as they trekked their way up Scafell Pike, Mount Snowdon and Ben Nevis in support of BWW Mind as part of the Three Peaks Challenge.

They chose to support us as they are a construction company, and within the construction industry, 1 in 6 workers will be dealing with a mental health issue at any given time. The construction industry claims the highest suicide rate in the country. Careys want to change this and to break the stigma around speaking about mental health. They said that  identified with BWW Mind’s initiative to improve awareness and remove stigmas surrounding mental health, while providing support to those experiencing a mental health issue, is an initiative that is close to their team members’ hearts. They decided to take on the Three Peaks to raise money to support people living with mental health difficulties in the Boroughs in which Careys operates (Brent and Westminster).

They did amazingly well, covering all three mountains in three different countries within 24 hours and raising almost £5,000 to support people with mental health difficulties. A huge thanks to them! The money they have raised will make a tremendous difference.
